Gabriela Silang

This Fall semester, I was enrolled in a digital illustration class at City College of San Francisco. My final project required us to illustrate a hero. I decided to focus on Gabriela Silang, a Filipino war hero and badass who lead thousands of freedom fighters against Spanish colonizers in the 18th century. In my illustration I tried capture her bold, inspiring, and leadership qualities. Gabriela died a martyr, but her legacy carries on.
